MARSHALL’S EXTRA SPICY TAKES: NFL WEEK 2

Klinger’s Hot Lips are on my Radar

Send in the M*A*S*H unit, cuz everyone’s down. Saquon, Austin, Nick, Jamal, Joe, Brandon, Jacobi, Diontae, Jaylen, Christian, David, D.K. and on and on. The list of notable injuries stacked up quickly in just two weeks of football. Even if some star players haven’t performed for some organizations, i’ll bet many are happy just to get through unscathed. This is also making mincemeat of many depth charts, and playoff predictions are all but out the window.

Manageable Mahomes

The lack of receiving talent combined with limited snaps for Travis Kelce has turned Patrick Mahomes into a game manager, and while doing enough to win against the jags in week 2 enough for everyone to be happy for now, speculation as to the depths of a playoff run can go are numerous.

Who are these guys and why are they invading my MVP list?

Tua, Baker and Micah are my early contenders, which is not the list I would have predicted half a month into the regular season. This being obviously a way too early calculation, I expect others to rise to meet or surpass them. In the meantime, fans of these players can take a victory lap, until they are tested by a team that is over .500 .

Defense Wins Championships, just not a lot of Football Games

Carolina, Denver, Pittsburgh, Jets. None of these teams can score. Blame the Quarterbacks? Sure. Also blame the O-lines that have those dudes running for their lives constantly.

Careful, Cards

The Arizona Cardinals are banging on the door of a good season, with quality QB play from Joshua Dobbs. They might excel to the point where they play themselves out of the Caleb WIlliams sweepstakes, whether they confirm it or not.

Are the Rams Good?

My opinion is that the Rams are the Lions (ironic because of the QB swap a couple years ago). Good offensive play, medium defense. Both are wildcard bubblers until I see different, and it may end up both of them vying for the same spot.

What to do with the Saints

Their defense looks good enough to win the division, but can Carr elevate his game? When Kamara comes back the offense should look more like what we can expect, so as of now, more data is needed.
